Indulging In Polish

The other day I passed by Terry White Chemist shop and they had a whole load of nail polish on sale for $2 each. I couldn’t resist picking up a few. Nail polish is just one of those girly things that I indulge in a lot more than I would with make-up or fashion, simply due to the price. And I love looking at my nail colours when I’m working and typing away at the keyboard. Go rainbow nails, go!

Ulta3 Nail Colour in Lagoon went on pretty smoothly, only took me 2 regular coats to give it that shiny finish and it had a reasonable drying time.

NYC Nail Colour in Citrus was this bright, neon yellow polish. It took way too many thick coats (3+) and because of that it took way too long to dry. I clearly don’t have any patience since regular coats were too sheer for my liking. Since I was using my left hand to apply on my right hand, I was very messy with the application.

For the price that I paid, I couldn’t really expect too much from them. It’s instant gratification at its finest. Though it wouldn’t count as instant if Citrus took forever to dry, now would it?

Oh yeah, both had a pretty strong smell but NYC was even worse. Even when I got to bed, I had to keep my hands away from my face so I wouldn’t smell them. I think that might be a bad sign, yah? Meh.

So far Sally Hansen’s Complete Salon Manicure and Rimmel 60 Seconds Nail Polish collections are my drugstore faves. Their brushes are pretty good, consistency is awesome (not too thick or thin) and drying time are reasonable, though Rimmel’s truly dries, amazingly fast!

What’s on your nails today? Do you change them up often or do you stay au natural?

Until next time, sprinkle hearts!

Isn’t It Iconic Canvas Tote, Chip Chop

Super cute canvas tote, with wide straps and a button snap. I always find useful to have reusable totes around, even ones from groceries but this is super cute! Hearts it!

Aimee from Song of Style is giving one away in partnership with the Australian Brand called CHIP CHOP designed by Hannah Chipkin. You should enter the giveaway and good luck to you!

Always Boots Season In My World

I've always been more of a boot kind of girl than a pair heels kind of girl. Heels have been reserved for special occasions and it wasn't till a while ago that I found a pair of platform heels that were a joy to walk in. I could actually spend a day (not really recommend for a full day of walking) and evening out without whining and complaining about the state of my feet.

I took a bit of a break from work to distract myself with a bit of visual therapy and came across these cool Aldo boots. But then these Frye boots would be a pretty awesome investment too. Plenty of girls swear by their lasting quality.

Le sigh! I miss wearing boots. What have you been wearing lately?

60 Seconds Polish

Got this the other day, a total impulse shop but worth it! It's Green with Envy, 60 Seconds by Rimmel London. The brush is smooth and spreads the polish on pretty well, it's also a very fast drying so it's OK to put it on a little thickly for one layer. I love this shade of shimmery green, almost turquoise? While putting it on, the colour reminded me of the Little Mermaid, in a sexy way.

Love the shade and I'll get a few more shades in the collection. I wonder if they have a mint shade…

Cheers and sprinkles,

H&M Fashion Against Aids

Am I always late to the party? I finally got around to looking at the H&M Fashion Against Aids – The Festival Collection. 25% of sales will be donated to youth HIV/AIDS awareness projects – yey for good deeds! They launched the collection on May 20th, 2010 and since I'm here in Brisbane, I'm totally missing out on this very lovely selection of new stuff which include men/ladies festival kits, headphones, sleeping bags and even a tent! Even more unfortunate the sleeping bags and tent won't be available for sale in Canada – boourns, I can't even get my friends to pick them up for me!

I absolutely adore H&M. Now I'm not going to necessarily buy everything in the store, but they do offer plenty of trendy and classic items at very awesome, affordable prices. You should also be a keen shopper because there plenty of items that are well made, and then there are items that fall apart after couple of washes/use – so watch out before purchasing something just because you so it in a magazine or blog. That kind of advice seems like something everyone should innately know but I wouldn't be surprised that there are some people who don't listen to sound advice.

Ah well, it really is too bad that there isn't an H&M shop here! I'll cheer myself up with a bubble tea, sprinkle hearts!
